Discuss the preface by Seth Godin. Is he saying you can’t learn anything from a text book? What are your thoughts?

Seth Godin saying you can’t learn anything from a text book I take as marketing is not a skill that can be taught to you out of a book but  the book will give you a good bases to go off as it will get you use to the vocabulary use in the marketing world. The best other help you can get about marketing is the internet.  To become a good marketer you will need to go out the done some marketing experiencing what works and what doesn't. I believe that Seth is right as most skills can't be learnt from a book, it is practise that makes you know what you are doing. This was shown to me when I was at a job interview, last year graduates told us that you will only us about 5% of the thing you learnt at university and the rest is taught to you on the job.
