Week 11

CRM and Analytics

Is CRM dead? Seth Godin

Define the following

Objectives: An end result that a company or organisation which to achieve with in certain time frame. it is broad and can generally consist of individual goals that will be achieve along the way that in the end will create the objective being achieved. For example a company is looking at making a total profit of $1,000,000 for a financial year in the year 2020; leading up to 2020 they will look at ways to increase profit having targets for years prior to 2020.

Goals: Goals are SMART( Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time framed), they are set out to help achieve the overall objective of the company or organization. Example, increase profit by 50% on last year’s profit

KPI's (Key Performance IndicatorA unit of measurment that shows whether a websiote is achieing its objectives. Example, increase of 10% on profit as of December 31

Why is a 'hit' not strictly a useful metric?

A hit is not exactly a useful tool to measure the success of your website as consumers can bounce onto your website and take no or little notice of the content or realise that the site is not what they were after and leave. It doesn't state how long they were on the website for ot what exactly they were looking at and how many times they have returned to the site, these are better forms of measurment when looking at the successfulness of your website.
